Cooking Up Rosco’s BBQ

Earlier this year I launched a website for Rosco’s BBQ. It was a redesign as much as it was an evolution from the landing page designed last year. The client and I focused on keeping everything authentic and down-to-earth, while also leveraging services for online ordering and merch fulfillment. Here’s a look and few takeaways:

1. Keep It Authentic. Our goal was simple: Ross knows barbecue and we wanted to match that down-south, backyard energy. Stock photography and overuse of AI didn’t fit the spirit, so we kept it real as we defined the brand’s authentic look and voice. Huge credit to the owner for driving social media content and pushing past the uncomfortable parts to show up consistently. That connection and commitment is what really helped this redesign work.

2. Build in Phases. It didn’t happen in one go. This redesign began last year as a straightforward landing page: clean, focused, and intentional. As the business grew, so did the website. That wasn’t hesitation—it was smart, deliberate strategy. Growth in phases means building what matters now while staying ready for what’s next.

3. Add Merch When It Makes Sense. Adding merch to the mix was a natural next step. Using Printful, we were able to quickly launch official Rosco’s BBQ gear without inventory headaches or compromises on quality. Feel free to take a look.

This redesign wasn’t about following trends or doing too much—it was about building something sharp, real, and aligned with the spirit of Rosco’s BBQ. No fluff. No filler. Just a digital presence that’s as solid as the food it represents.

That’s the recipe. Light the grill.

Create with empathy.
Live with passion.
